What Ballet is

Ballet is a four-hundred-year-old system with its own vocabulary in French and its own logic of movement. Adult classes keep the structure — barre, centre, allegro — without the ambition of a professional career: they build the alignment, control and strength every other style borrows.

What to bring to the first class

Ballet slippers or thick socks, fitted clothes so the teacher can see the line, hair tied back.
